Heart sessions

Breathe for five minutes. Watch your rhythm settle.

Rest a fingertip on your phone's rear camera. The flash lights your skin, the camera reads the pulse under it, and a slow breathing guide carries you for four minutes. At the end you see how your rhythm moved from its own first minute.

This shows calm. Each person is compared with their own first minute, and the pair is counted by the minutes you were both settled at once. It is not a medical reading, it is not a compatibility score, and it does not rank anyone.

60 seconds

Settle

Finger on the lens, hold still. This minute is your own baseline, and everything after is measured against it.

4 minutes

Breathe

A soft line rises and falls at 6 breaths a minute, five seconds in and five out. Follow it.

30 seconds

Rest

The guide fades. Keep your finger where it is and breathe however you like. Then the card.

What your phone needs

  • A phone with a rear camera, held in your hand. A laptop cannot take the reading.
  • Safari on iPhone, or Chrome on Android. Links opened inside Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp usually cannot reach the camera; the page will offer to copy the link so you can open it in your browser.
  • The flash, where the browser allows it. Without one, sit near a bright lamp with the light behind your hand.
  • Five quiet minutes. Movement is the thing that most often spoils a reading.

What is kept

No video and no images leave your phone. What is saved is a short summary for every few seconds of the session: a time, a heart rate, a rhythm figure and a word for how clear the signal was. You agree to that on the session page itself, on your own device, and you can delete the session afterwards. Nothing is shown unless the signal was clear enough to trust.

Begin with someone

A Circle is a private space for two people: a partner, a friend, or an adult family member. It holds the sessions you do together, each on your own phone, and the dates that matter to you. It is free.

Who is this with?

Or begin on your own

One phone, one person, the same five minutes.

If you feel chest pain, faintness or a racing heart that does not settle, stop and contact local emergency services.
